Technology has made life easier in almost every area of our lives. It has made our lives and jobs smoother, and most importantly, quicker. Parking enforcement officers cannot afford to waste their critical time. Earlier, they had to manually write vehicles’ number plate numbers in case of any parking violation. This would waste their valuable time but technology has enabled them to use devices and software that can quickly read a number plate and gather all the relevant information about the vehicle and its driver.
Another problem that security companies and their clients faced was that of towing. Often the clients had to manually call security company’s patrol supervisor to inform regarding a vehicle that has vehicle parking permit. They had to resort to this task because earlier, security personnel would tow a vehicle by mistake, which had the permit to be parked. This led to all sorts of problems between both the parties as the owner of permitted vehicle had to unnecessarily get in a long dialogue with the security personnel to get back his/her vehicle.
This problem has been resolved now as a client can now add his/her vehicle parking permit details on the security company’s database. What this does is that when a patrol officer of the security company comes across a vehicle that seems parked without a permit, he/she can scan the number plate to check whether the vehicle is illegally parked or has a permit. The officer will get ‘DO NOT TOW’ notification on the device, which will stop him/her from wrongly towing a vehicle.
